NHS REMOTE LEARNING PLAN

BIG THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT REMOTE DAYS

If a remote learning day is called, there will be no students in the building.

Instruction will occur in live time, online, using Teams.

REMOTE DAILY SCHEDULE

(THIS IS WHEN STUDENTS NEED TO LOG IN TO TEAMS)

1st period: 7:30-8:20

2nd period: 8:25-9:15

3rd period: 9:20-10:10

4th period 10:15-11:05

Open office hours 11:10-11:40 (Teachers available for help via chat/email)

SYNCHRONOUS INSTRUCTION

All classes will utilize Microsoft Teams

Students must participate via the chat feature and unmute the microphone to verbally participate when requested by the teacher.

During open office hours, teachers will be available to chat with students or parents who need help or need to ask questions.

How will student attendance work?

On a remote learning day, student attendance will coded with one of the following:

1. Present: Students who complete their daily assignments (online or offline), participate in live instruction and/or complete a daily check-in (a two-way communication) with his or her appropriate teachers will be coded present.

2. 2A Absent: Students who don’t participate as described above are ABSENT. (Other attendance codes may still apply on a remote learning day such as excused absence due to illness, injury, etc with proper documentation.).
